Mavuno began with a simple problem.

Businesses are assessed on statements, plans and whatever the owner supplies. Many of the questions that matter depend on place, and until now looking has been expensive.

Why Mavuno exists

Place decides more than the file admits.

Where is the business actually operating? What surrounds it? Where does supply come from, and how far is the customer? Those questions sit behind most financing and sourcing decisions, and documents cannot answer them.

Mavuno makes that part of a business visible using satellite, weather, location and business information, at a cost far below repeated site visits.

Principles

How we work.

Start with the question
Evidence exists to help someone decide something. No decision, no pack.
Show the working
Every finding carries its source, its date and the steps behind it, so you can argue with it.
Say what it cannot show
The limits of a finding are part of the deliverable, not small print.
Never overclaim
We do not describe things we cannot do, or publish accuracy figures we have not tested.
Ask permission
What a business shares is used for the agreed question, in writing, and nothing else.
The decision stays yours
The credit officer, the committee, the underwriter or the manager decides.

Have a business question that depends on place?

Tell us the question and the place it concerns. We will say whether Mavuno can add useful evidence to it, and what it would not settle.
