The same five steps, every time.

One site or a whole portfolio, the method does not change. That is what makes one pack easy to compare with the next.

Method

From your question to your answer.

Step 01

Ask

Tell us the business question. Who is deciding what, and what does it depend on? If we cannot answer it honestly, we say so now rather than later.

Step 02

Locate

We agree the place that matters: a site, a farm, a supply area, a route or a market. Nothing outside that area is assessed.

Step 03

Understand

We bring together satellite images, rainfall and seasonal records, map information and whatever the business shares. Every piece is recorded with its origin and the date it describes.

Step 04

Explain

It becomes simple maps and short written observations: what we looked at, what we found, why it matters, how confident we are and what it cannot tell you.

Step 05

Decide

You use the pack alongside your own financial and operational information. It also lists what should be checked on the ground first.

What we need from you

What we ask for, and what we do with it.

Anything a business shares is used only with its permission, and only for the question we agreed.

Where you operate
Site locations, a boundary file, or a description of the place we can put on a map.
How you operate
Seasons, suppliers, collection points, sites and routes, as the business describes them.
Permission
Written agreement covering what may be shared with the lender, investor or programme.
Nothing more
We do not ask for financial records, personal data or anything beyond the agreed question.

Quality

How we check our own work.

  • Cloud and shadow are removed before we read anything from an image.
  • We confirm the area we measured matches the area you told us about.
  • We look across a season, so no conclusion rests on a single clear day.
  • We compare each area against the land around it, not only against itself.
  • Every step behind a number in the pack is written down.

Where we stop

  • We do not turn what we see growing into a yield or tonnage figure.
  • We do not guess ownership, contracts or availability from a picture.
  • We do not issue risk scores or ratings.
  • We do not present an estimate as if it were something we observed.

Have a business question that depends on place?

Tell us the question and the place it concerns. We will say whether Mavuno can add useful evidence to it, and what it would not settle.
