A simple Evidence Pack for an important business question.

One question. One place. Maps, observations and plain explanations of what they mean for your decision, how confident we are and what you should check next.

Inside the pack

What is in it, in this order.

Every pack follows the same order, so you always know where to look and can trace any observation back to where it came from.

  1. 01The questionThe one business question the pack sets out to inform, agreed before we start.
  2. 02The placeThe site, farm, supply area, route or market the pack covers.
  3. 03What we foundEach observation, with its source, its date and what it means.
  4. 04How we got thereThe steps between the raw information and what you see, written down so you can question them.
  5. 05How confident we areHow directly each observation answers your question, in words rather than a score.
  6. 06What it cannot tell youThe limits of the information, written into the pack instead of left unsaid.
  7. 07What to check nextThe visits, conversations and documents that should follow.

One observation

Every observation looks like this.

An example only. It shows how an observation is written up, not a real measurement.

Sentinel-2 (illustrative)Confidence: moderate

Vegetation index summary across the catchment

Location
25 km collection catchment
Observation date
Demonstration period — composite window
Interpretation
In this demonstration the higher-signal area covers roughly the western third of the catchment, suggesting that productive land is unevenly distributed rather than spread across the full collection radius.
How we got there
Cloud-masked optical composite → index computation → catchment zonal summary → review against the declared collection radius.
Limitation
A vegetation index describes greenness, not crop type, yield or ownership. It cannot confirm that observed vegetation is commercially available to the facility.
Next check
Confirm with aggregators which parts of the catchment actually supply the facility today.

Confidence

How much weight to put on a finding.

Confidence says how directly an observation answers your question. It is not a statistical accuracy score, and we do not publish accuracy figures we have not tested.

indicative
Useful as context. The observation is coarse, smoothed or indirect and should be treated as directional only.
moderate
Reasonably direct evidence for the stated question, with known interpretation limits that are documented in the pack.
supported
Directly answers the stated question within its defined scope, though it still does not verify commercial facts.

Delivery

How it reaches you.

A short written pack you can drop into a credit, investment or committee file. Maps carry legends and a written description, so the pack still reads without them. Each observation is also kept as its own record with its source and date attached, alongside a list of what the pack tested and what it deliberately did not.

What a pack cannot do

  • A pack informs a decision. It does not make one.
  • Satellite information shows physical conditions, not ownership, contracts or sales volumes.
  • Cloud, seasons and mixed land use all affect what the imagery shows.
  • If a question cannot be answered honestly, the pack says so.

Suggested next checks

  1. 01Confirm with the business that we have the right locations.
  2. 02Compare the seasons we observed against their production calendar.
  3. 03Check stated volumes against delivery or sales records.
  4. 04Talk through anything that does not match before you decide.

Working together

How work is scoped.

There is no price list, because the work depends on your question, the place and the information available.

One Evidence Pack
One question, one place, delivered as a single written pack.
Portfolio review
The same approach across a set of businesses or sites.
Programme work
A starting picture and repeat observations across a programme area.

Have a business question that depends on place?

Tell us the question and the place it concerns. We will say whether Mavuno can add useful evidence to it, and what it would not settle.
