Circular Economy & Processing

Understand where materials, suppliers, facilities and potential customers are located.

Circular economy and processing evidence for East African finance

Recycling and agro-processing ventures are financed on a supply story: material comes from a set of collection points, close enough to be practical, at a rate the facility can handle. The places in that story can be checked even when the volumes cannot.

Mavuno maps your collection points against the facility, shows how far each one is, and records a dated picture of the surrounding area that later observations can be compared against. Every finding carries its source, our confidence and what the pictures cannot resolve at that scale.

Programme funders, working-capital lenders and buyers get a clear starting picture instead of a fixed claim. We say plainly that satellite information cannot confirm tonnage, contracts or the standing of collection partners.

Recycling and processing businesses depend on where their material comes from, how far it has to travel and what surrounds the facility.

Funders and programmes also need a clear starting picture, so later change can be described honestly.

Questions we hear

  • Where does the material actually come from?
  • What surrounds the facility today?
  • What starting picture should be recorded before work begins?
  • How do collection points, the facility and buyers connect?
  • What should this evidence not be used to claim?

What we can show

What Mavuno adds to the question.

Drawn from free public satellite and rainfall information, plus whatever the business chooses to share with us.

Where suppliers are
Where your suppliers and collection points sit around the facility.
Around the facility
What surrounds the facility today — land use, settlements and roads.
A dated starting picture
A dated record of the area as it is today.
What has changed
A comparison between two dates, where an earlier picture exists.

How it runs

From your question to your answer.

  1. 01Ask: agree the sourcing, siting or starting-picture question.
  2. 02Locate: set the facility, the collection points and the supply area.
  3. 03Understand: gather dated observations of the area and the network.
  4. 04Explain: record a clear starting picture, with its limits stated.
  5. 05Decide: you receive the pack as a reference point for later comparison.

What a pack might answer.

Illustrative demo data

Business question

What does the operating area around this processing facility look like at the start of the engagement?

Processing facility and declared collection network

What the pack would show

  • Dated land-cover context around the facility
  • Spatial distribution of declared collection points
  • Distance profile across the collection network

What you gain from it

A dated, traceable baseline that later observations can be compared against, with explicit limitations on what the imagery can resolve.

Limitations

  • This example is illustrative. It is not an assessment of any real business.
  • Satellite information shows physical conditions, not commercial facts.
  • Every real pack states its own limits, for its own place.

Common questions

Asked before a pilot.

Can imagery confirm feedstock supply?
No. It can show where the collection points are, how far they sit from the facility and what surrounds them on given dates. Supply volume stays a question for records and ground checks.
Why does a dated baseline matter?
Because it lets the same area be looked at again later. Change can then be measured against a written starting point instead of argued from memory.
What are the resolution limits?
Free satellite pictures show land use and site-scale patterns, not individual objects or small structures. Each pack states what could not be made out.
